"Music is 4 People," is a collaborative project utilizing Bandcamp subscription as a medium.
The aim is to release a monthly sound(s) intended as an accompaniment for improvisation and practice. My hope is to create new, decentralized work from contributions, group pieces that will also be released via the Music is 4 People page. I believe everyone has the capacity to make music and I intend for Music is 4 People to deepen community for musicians, non-musicians and music lovers alike to create new sounds together without expectations or need for physical proximity.
My goals here are to connect with and create with improvisers and sound makers. To provide sounds for those that may be struggling creatively or wanting to make music with others but haven't had the chance or aren't in a current position to do so. To be more active creatively. Get playing more, have things to play along to and have opportunities to collaborate with strangers and friends. The accompaniment tracks uploaded can be experienced as standalone works. In addition, you will also receive all new releases and all back catalog releases.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR SUBSCRIBERS
-Send all files, questions, ideas to musicis4people@gmail.com
-Each track with (solo) in the title are the ones to play / record to
-When sending audio recordings back please make sure to have the original track muted / not included
-Your audio lined up exactly with the start of the original audio
-Separate audio tracks individually if you have more than more track / recording
-Audio sent back within 3 weeks / beginning of the last week of the month will get priority on releases. I don't want to impose deadlines but aiming to release things at the beginning and end of each month (just plz send stuff)
-I do not really care about audio quality and don't want anyone to feel limited. A phone recording works just fine!
-Include name/moniker/instruments for release credits
